Glenn’s passion for nature began as a young boy playing in the woods on his family’s farm, exploring the land and transplanting small trees throughout the property to serve as shade in the years to come. This hobby quickly evolved into his life’s work.

Glenn earned his Ornamental Horticulture associate degree from Illinois Central College followed by BS in Agribusiness from Illinois State University.  While working at a family garden center in Bloomington IL, he quickly moved through the company into a lead management position with the design team. This provided the confidence needed for the next step in his career, a move to Chicago.

After nearly 25 years in the Chicago Market, Glenn continues to grow and evolve in the industry, taking on new challenges and adventures with every season. Focusing on seasonal color displays for our downtown partners, Glenn is always looking ahead for what’s new and trending and how to set Semmer apart from the rest!

Recently moving to the Beverly neighborhood, Glenn and his husband Michael can typically be found at home either doing renovations or entertaining friends and family. Their son Nathan is also in the industry working for a family-owned firm in Bloomington IL.
